2017 Chicago Architecture Biennial: Make New History
How does creativity in design transform the world? Discover eye-opening innovations at the Chicago Architecture Biennial, a massive, free exhibition through January 7 at the Chicago Cultural Center. Curated by Sharon Johnston and Mark Lee of the Los Angeles-based firm Johnston Marklee, this unique exhibit will showcase the power of intentional design.
What Is the Chicago Architecture Biennial?
Over 140 international studios have come together in the exhibit, which covers three floors and presents installations, drawings, and immersive environments. The very structure of the Chicago Cultural Center is also transformed into a series of arcades, galleries, and lounges. Explore new perspectives on historical ideas, including the highlight of the event - a set of giant skyscraper models in Yates Hall that reimagine the historic competition to design the Chicago Tribune Tower. Panels, workshops, and other special Chicago events will take place concurrently with the exhibit.
