Just a short walk from the Holiday Inn Mart Plaza, Chicago's Navy Pier is a can't miss destination for anyone staying in downtown Chicago. Originally built in 1916, the pier was designed to function as a place where industry, commerce, and the general public could intersect in a single location. Stretching out into Michigan  Today, it serves as a major tourist attraction and is home to the Smith Museum of Stained Glass Windows. Many of these windows were salvaged from local mansions following the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

After a long day at Navy Pier, visitors can watch the fireworks display, which takes place on Wednesday and Saturday nights in the summer and on Saturdays in the fall.
