2019 Chinese New Year Events in Chicago


  • Chinatown Lunar New Year Parade – Chicago's vibrant Chinatown neighborhood hosts a boisterous Lunar New Year Parade with beautifully decorated floats, big marching bands, and colorful lion dancers – plus Ronald McDonald. It steps off at 24th Street and Wentworth Avenue, then heads north to Cermark Road. (Sunday, February 10 at 1:00 PM)


  • Argyle Street Lunar New Year Celebration – Enjoy a whole afternoon of festivities in the Uptown neighborhood. The fun kicks off with a giant parade with live entertainment, local groups, and lion dancing. It all begins near the Argyle L stop and heads east along Argyle Street. (Saturday, February 9 at 1:00 PM)


  • Year of the Dog Celebration at Navy Pier – Chicago's famous Aon Grand Ballroom hosts an afternoon party in conjunction with Global Connections. Discover traditional Chinese food, craft making, live music, and dancing. (Saturday, February 16 at 1:00 PM)
