Mayhem and mischief. Buskers and magicians. Beers, bikes, and bands. Tour de Fat is a traveling summer festival that hops around the country each year, including a much-awaited appearance in Chicago. Featuring vaudeville performers, magicians, comedians, street artists, and circus acts, it's a truly unique festival. This year the event takes place on July 29th from 4:00 pm to 9:00 pm - and the festival is upping its game for 2017 with a big-name headliner (The Roots) and a fresh new venue (Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island).
For almost two decades, New Belgium Brewing has hosted the Tour de Fat, which raises funds for local nonprofit organization West Town Bikes. Pedal over to the venue on the Lakefront Trail, and be sure to dress wild: crazy costumes are encouraged at this wacky event.
