We may be reaching the end of February, but that doesn't mean winter is ready to release its icy grip on Chicago just yet. We're okay with that though, because the Windy City is one of the most outdoor friendly cities in the country, even during the cold months! There's always something to do. So if you're going to be staying with us here at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza during these final brisk weeks, we've got the skinny on some of the best winter activities happening all around the city!
Time to break out those old ice skates and hit the rinks! For some of the best ice-skating around, try the rink at Lincoln Park Zoo for only $5 through February 26th, or the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink at Millennium Park for FREE through March 5th! Both offer skate rentals and make for a perfect date night or fun for the whole family.
For more outdoor fun, head out to Northerly Island on Saturday for a Polar Adventure Day. Sip hot cocoa and meet some wild winter animals like Siberian huskies, wolves, and a number of different birds of prey in the island's new nature area. There will also be craft making and other fun activities for children.
Even if you're not a hockey fan, there's nothing more fun than a live NHL game! Get out and cheer for our Chicago Blackhawks as they take on the Arizona Coyotes this Thursday or the St. Louis Blues on Sunday at the United Center.
Whatever you choose to do, we hope you enjoy the rest of winter as much as we here at the Holiday Inn will!
