America's largest free air and water show spectacular, the 57th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show will welcome over 2 million visitors to North Avenue Beach on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21.
The 57th Annual Chicago Air and Water Show returns to North Avenue Beach on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. This long-running annual Chicago event is the Windy City's second-largest festival and the largest free air and water exhibition of its kind in the United States.
Over 2 million people a year witness daredevil thrills in the air and on the water as some of the top civilian and military pilots and aircraft participate. Acts include daredevil pilots, parachute teams and jets flying in formation, as well as water-skiing and boat jumping. Biennial headliners include the U.S. Navy Blue Angels and the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds, along with the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and the U.S. Navy Leap Frogs.
Adding excitement, drama and context to their dazzling feats is Herb Hunter, whose colorful play-by-play of the wizardry in the sky and on the water has been anessential part of the Chicago Air & Water Show experience for over 20 years.
The 57th Annual Chicago Air & Water Show happens from 10 am to 3 pm on Saturday and Sunday, August 20 and 21. Admission to the show is free. While North Avenue beach is the center of the action, the show can be viewed anywhere along the lakefront from Fullerton to Oak Street.
Downtown hotel accommodations for the Chicago Air & Water Show are available at Holiday Inn Mart Plaza.
