Q: How Do I Choose Where To Stay In Chicago?

When you're deciding where to stay in the Windy City, Chicago Mart Plaza is a smart and affordably priced choice. We offer a downtown location perfect for business and leisure travelers and our full-service hotel features 521 rooms and nine suites, all recently updated. The River North area is a hub of activity during the day, close to The Loop, the city's central business district, the Merchandise Mart, and furniture and design showrooms.

Q: Where Do I Go When I Arrive?

Upon arrival at 350 West Mart Center Drive (also referred to as 350 North Orleans), please look for the silver Holiday Inn sign and our Doormen in red to welcome you and provide assistance with your luggage. If you have traveled by vehicle, please feel welcome to drop off your luggage with our Doormen prior to parking to make your arrival and stay more enjoyable.
Once you have entered the building, keep to the left and follow the silver Holiday Inn signs through the lobby and around the corner where you will find a set of elevators. Take the Hotel elevators up the 15th floor for check-in, access to guestrooms, the LaSalle Room, Wolf Point Ballroom, Cityscape Bar, Merchants Market, and Merchants Cafe. Meeting rooms and the Sauganash Ballroom are located on the 14th floor.

Q: Why Do I need a credit or debit card at check in?

A: A credit or debit card must be presented upon check in at the hotel.

Most IHG hotels and resorts place a hold on a credit or debit card when it is presented at check in. The hold amount varies depending on the rate type booked and can include the entire price of the stay, plus taxes, fees, and a $50 per night deposit for incidental purchases. These holds are separate from, and in addition to, your billable charges. IHG hotels and resorts typically release the hold within 5 days of check out once final payment has been received. Depending on your financial institution, funds may take up to 14 days or longer to be back in your account. InterContinental Hotels Group, its subsidiaries, affiliates, franchisees and agents are not responsible or liable for the loss of use of these funds or any overdraft charges.

Q: Is there a minimum Age to check in to the hotel?

A: Yes, guests must be 21 years of age and must provide a valid state ID or driver's  license during time of check in.

Q: What Is The Hotel's Cancellation & Early Departure Policy?

Canceling your reservation before 6:00 pm (local hotel time) 1 day prior to your arrival date will result in no charge. Canceling your reservation after 6:00 pm (local hotel time) 1 day prior to your arrival date, or failing to show, will result in a charge of 1 night per room to your credit card. Taxes may apply. Failing to call or show before check-out time after the first night of a reservation will result in cancellation of the remainder of your reservation.
Early departure will result in a charge of 1 night per room and tax to your credit card. 

Special rates, pre-paid and third party reservations are subject to separate cancellation policies and fees.

Q: Where Can I Park? How Much Is Parking?

Self-parking is available in the underground Wolf Point Parking Garage located off the hotel front drive at 325 West Wolf Point Plaza (also listed as Mart Center Drive) for $49.00 per night with in-and-out parking privileges (as of December 1, 2018). 
Please present your parking voucher to the Hotel's front desk on the 15th floor for validation.
Oversized vehicles may park at the open lot at 511 West Kinzie Street. Parking fees are posted at the lot and vouchers cannot be validated by the hotel.
The hotel does not offer valet parking.

Q: How Do I Get To The Hotel Using Public Transportation?

From O'Hare International Airport: Take the CTA Blue Line Train towards Forest Park and exit at Clark/Lake.
  • Head North on North Wells Street for 1 block.
  • Turn Left on West Wacker Drive for 1 block.
  • Turn Right onto North Orleans Street over the Franklin Street Bridge for 1 block before turning Left onto West Mart Center Drive (also referred to as West Wolf Point Plaza).
  • Destination will be on the Right past the first set of revolving doors.
From Chicago Midway Airport: Take the CTA Orange Line Train towards the Loop and exit at Clark/Lake.
  • Head West on Lake Street toward North LaSalle Street.
  • Turn Right onto North Franklin (Orleans) Street over the Franklin Street Bridge for 1 block before turning Left onto West Mart Center Drive (also referred to as West Wolf Point Plaza).
  • Destination will be on the Right past the first set of revolving doors.
The Hotel is located 1 mile from Chicago Union Station, .7 miles from Ogilvie Transportation Center, and accessible via the CTA Brown Line Train at the Merchandise Mart and .4 miles from the CTA Blue Line Train at Clark/Lake.

Q: What Is In The Merchandise Mart And How Do You Get There From The Hotel?

The Merchandise Mart is the world's largest commercial building and design center, and one of Chicago's premier international business locations. It houses hundreds of tenants including manufacturers' showrooms, corporate offices, education institutions, trade shows, food court, and CTA public transportation.
To access the Merchandise Mart from the Hotel, take the main elevators located on the 15th floor down to the 1st floor. Turn left and walk towards the silver escalators and go up one floor. Walk around the escalators and follow the path across the sky bridge to enter the Merchandise Mart.
To access the Hotel from the Merchandise Mart, cross over the sky bridge on the 2nd floor and take the escalators down one floor. Turn to your right as you exit off the escalator and stay to your right taking the main hotel elevators up to the 15th floor to arrive at the Hotel lobby.

Q: Does the hotel offer luggage storage?

If guests arrive prior to the 3pm check in time on the day of their arrival, they may store their luggage with the bellmen at the Bell Desk located on the 15th floor. Guests may also store their luggage with the bellmen on the day of their check out. All items must be picked up by end of day of guests departure date. No overnight storage is permitted and luggage cannot be stored past a guests check out date.  
Luggage storage is complimentary. 

Q: Do Guestrooms Have Refrigerators Or Microwaves?

All guestrooms are equipped with an in-room refrigerator. 
Microwaves are not available and cannot be requested in any of our guestrooms.

Q: Are Rollaway Beds Available?

Rollaway beds can only be accommodated in King guestrooms. Rollaway beds are available upon request and available for $20 per night.

Q: Does The Room Rate Include Breakfast? What Are The Hours For Breakfast?

Breakfast is not included in the room rate unless a breakfast package is booked at the time of reservations. Guests that did not book a breakfast package can order off the menu, a la carte, or can select the breakfast buffet for $21.95 (plus tax and service fee).
Breakfast is served in Merchants Cafe located on the 15th floor between the hours of 6:30am - 11:00am Monday thru Friday and 6:30am - 12:00 pm on Saturday & Sunday.

Q: What Is The Pet Policy?

The hotel does not allow pets, service animals only. Service animals must never be left unattended in the guestroom, even if they are crated. All service animals must be on a leash at all times when outside of the guestroom.
